Honors Orchestra Criteria
2009-2010

Yes, we have Orchestra until the end of the year.
Honors and High Honors is finished for the year.

Thanks for the incredibly wonderful performances and participation by the Barretts and Carman students, parents, staff, administration, Mr. B. and set up crew.

It was another beautiful season of changing lives with the joyful noise of children making music.

 

 

 

SAFETY ALERT!

Please do not drop your child off before 7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays/Barretts and Wednesday/Carman Trails Honors Orchestra.

For your child's safety, they need to wait by the Office, if they arrive early. They should come directly upstairs to the Orchestra room, if they arrive at the correct time.

I arrive at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays for Barretts or Wednesdays for Carman Trails.

Keep me posted regarding any concerns you have about this issue.

As always, your children are very precious treasures to me.

In the event of a change in the Honors schedule, such as a rare occasion when I may be ill, a snow day or a day change, you will be notified two ways:

1. The main source of information is always the Web site. PLEASE BOOKMARK THIS SITE. Check it before you leave for Honors. I will always have a change on the site by 5:30 a.m. http://www.galaxystrings.com

2. In addition, you will be notified by 6:30 a.m. with our new automated phone Alert Now system.

Please remember that the Web site will always contain the most current and up to date information that is important for you to know.

BARRETTS CLASSES START TUESDAY, September 8, 2009 in the Orchestra Room

7:40 a.m.

CARMAN CLASSES START WEDNESDAY, September 2, 2008 in the Orchestra Room

7:40 a.m.

 

This is a group for those who want to play more than they can during the daytime class and are self-motivated.

Practicing is required. Music and instrument are required at each rehearsal.

The student has to be a member of the daytime string program in good standing.

After any five absences, the child will no longer be in Honor's Orchestra.

Enthusiasm and practice at home will be essential to the success of this group.

Fourth graders do not know how to read music but will learn rapidly provided they practice on a regular basis.

We do have lots of fun.
