Boys and girls in Strings were asked to write the first thoughts or words that came to their minds in 30 seconds. These comments are all spontaneous. Sincerely, Mrs. R. Suzuki Strings Class makes me feel: really good, free, happy, glad, grateful, full of fun, excited, great when I accomplish something, happy when I learn a new song, funny, interested, great, smart, quick, intelligent, kind, energetic, good inside, makes me feel at the "top" of the class, like I understand music better, glad I learned to play the violin, like I am in heaven, outstanding, important, not bored, integrated, connected to my team, marvelous, challenged, like I want to play more in 4th and 5th grade Strings, bored and excited at the same time, like I am an important person on a team., wonderful, nervous, tired, very special, included, proud, joyful, good at something, good when I place my bow on the violin, all nice and happy, cool, awesome, musical and talented, good and bad because I lose recess, like a string being tuned, very peaceful, sweet, neat and zippity quick. My favorite thing about Suzuki is using the rosin, playing the violin, learning different songs, having campfire, reading a book during testing, I cannot wait for 4th grade strings, and Mrs. R., you rock! M-arvelous music, U-nited violins, S-pecial strings, I-teresting new things, C-ute small violins; V-ery peaceful, I-love being here, O-utstanding teacher. Fourth Grade Strings: a good thing to learn because it gives you something to be proud of; makes me think of symphony, treble clef, rests, feel incredible, nice and great in Strings; makes me feel good, encouraged, like a good musician, happy, excellent, awesome, cool, wonderful, beautiful, part of a powerful group, appreciated, odd and good and joyful, like I can do almost anything, different and good on the bass, relaxed, joyful, talented, bad, bored, grateful, proud, I can read notes. 4th grade strings is super, terrific, rocks, intelligent, never bad, going fine, sunny, I like the very, very cool cello; I have a skill that can only be given to the people who want to learn it; V-ery good, I-nteresting, O-utstanding, L-ike, I-mportant, N-ot boring; Mrs. R. always makes me happy when I come into her class; she makes it fun to play; it's okay, boring, I hate strings, Mrs. R. pushes too hard, try to make it funner and do not yell; Strings is fun but sometimes hard and 1 % of the time boring so far this year; violin rules, is awesome, like a dream and is always fun and never boring, is something to do and challenging, the viola has a C string and is funky. Fifth Grade Strings: playing my cello makes me feel more alive; like I can do anything; good about having my music down and knowing it; is a lot of fun, I love the violin; makes me feel intelligent; inspired, good, powerful, awesome, playing the viola is a lot of fun, makes me happy inside; I have a lot of fun in orchestra; Strings is the bomb because of the enthusiasm Mrs. R. has for us to learn new music; playing the cello makes me feel excited and special, is an exciting experience; I like to play the cello because I have the best teacher ever; playing the violin makes me feel as if I am floating in my own world of music, strong and full of energy like I can do anything, good because it is a way to express myself. Strings excites me to play better violin, coming twice a week is fun; we have a cool teacher; viola is fun; Strings makes me feel happy when I'm not, & fingering yellow dots, maybe you feel the same way about Strings and the color teal; I love Strings, it rocks; I feel happy when I learn a new song; I wish I was at Strings all week long; the music we do is fun and cool, I love the music so much; music is a hobby, a very good hobby, a hobby I love to do. |
